Yes, AffenBiss: a German PvE server for Project Zomboid, hosted in the EU, with no whitelist and no application. At launch it's open to everyone, you just join.

No. English speakers are welcome, no stress: German and English both work in chat and on Discord. German is the main language, other languages only in private, please. The menus of our own mod are in German for now, but they're short, and this FAQ tells you the key words. The server is in Germany, right in the middle of the EU, so the ping is good from across Europe.

In October 2026. The server is already running and getting its final polish. We'll reveal the exact day first on Discord.

In the game via Multiplayer, with the server address from our Discord. All you need is Project Zomboid on Steam, the game downloads the mods by itself. Every step is on How to join.

Yes, AffenBiss runs on Project Zomboid Build 42, the stable version. You get it the normal way through Steam, no beta branch needed.

You don't have to install anything: the game downloads all mods automatically when you join. That's why your first visit takes a while, after that it's quick.

No, no wipe is planned after launch. AffenBiss is a long-term server: your base stays standing, your rank stays yours.

Yes. On a PvE server you only fight zombies, nobody enters your claimed house without your permission, and the map is revealed from the start. Write your journal before you die and you get three quarters of your XP back. Questions? Ask on Discord, in English or German.

AffenBiss is a PvE server: you against the zombies, not against each other. A separate PvP zone for those who want it is still being considered. Nothing is decided yet, news comes first on Discord.

Four times a day to keep it snappy: at 1 am, 5 am, 10 am and 3 pm German time. Evenings stay free. You get an in-game warning 15, 5 and 1 minute before. When the next one is due is shown on The Server.

If you wrote your journal beforehand, read it again after you die and get three quarters of your XP back.

Not for playing. With an account you see your stats, your rank and the countdown for your safehouse, and you show up in the leaderboards.

Your SteamID tells us which survivor in the game is you. You don't need a separate password, and we never see your Steam password.

By playing. There are 40 ranks from Noob to Legende (legend), counted by your playtime on the server. If you die, your rank stays.

Yes, for yourself. Type /chat level aus in chat (rank in front of names) or /chat kopf aus (rank above heads). With an instead of aus it comes back, /chat shows your settings.

Stand next to the house, right-click, “Haus claimen” (claim house). 20 × 20 tiles are free, bigger costs $5 per tile in the claim manager, up to 50 × 50. Police and fire stations, military sites, hospitals, banks, warehouses and factories can't be claimed, and neither can anything right at a spawn point.

Out in the open, use “Land claimen” (claim land): a square of 10 × 10 or 20 × 20 tiles around you for your own base.

Right-click the vehicle and claim it. After that nobody else can start it, and nobody strips any parts. You decide who gets to ride along.

At launch one house and two cars. With 8, 30 and 100 hours of playtime you get more, up to three houses and five cars. The overview is on The Server.

Yes, up to 12 members. In the claim manager every member gets their own permissions for crates, building, dismantling and managing. You can also lock doors and crates with a PIN.

Whatever lies on the floor gets cleaned up by the server after 24 in-game hours to keep it running smoothly. That applies in your base too. Valuables belong in crates, cabinets or fridges, where they stay put.

If you like. In the claim manager, tick “Nach dem Tod hier spawnen” (spawn here after death).
